N.J.H.S. Mission Statement
The constitution of the National Junior Honor Society states:
“The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service to promote leadership, to develop character and to encourage citizenship.
Dear Potential Members and Parents,
Congratulations on being academically eligible for membership in the Washington Caldwell School District chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. You must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher to become eligible. A survey is a major part of the selection process. You can see a copy of the survey and the selection process on our website. It is a great honor to be inducted into the N.J.H.S.
To be evaluated for membership, you must complete a survey which is mailed to you. You will not be evaluated for membership unless you turn in a survey. If you choose not to return the survey, you will not be considered for membership in subsequent years at Washington Caldwell.
The appearance of the survey is as important as the contents. Your survey will be evaluated for appearance, content, organization, and honesty. You may wish to type or word process your survey. You are welcome to use your own paper if you wish. Use complete sentences only where indicated. The word “list” is a big hint. If you have questions, please contact me via email: [email protected] or phone: 662-3466, ext 104. I suggest discussing the contents with your parents; however, you should do your own work.
Those selected for membership will receive an induction invitation to take home to parents. An induction will take place in April or May. I hope that you will take this process seriously, and do your best to turn in a completed survey.
Sincerely.
Mr. Thompson
